Kasia Kay

Sculptor

Bio

Kasia Kay is a Polish American Chicago-based multi-media artist and an independ-ent art curator. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago with BFA in Sculp-ture and Art Criticism.
The artist’s stylistic and formal approach within each medium might vary, yet com-mon themes prevail in her works. History, cultures, and travel may be sources of inspiration for Kay’s creative processes. She is often interested in transcendent and numinous content. It is for both personal and aesthetic reasons. Kay rejects limita-tions within creativity and is open to diving into the unknown.
She learned metal casting at Chicago Industrial Arts and Design Center, where she has been an artist member since 2017.
Kay has completed several artist residencies and international curatorial programs in the U.S.A., Germany, and Italy.
Kasia Kay has exhibited in Belgium, Greece, Italy, and the United States. Her work is in several private collections.
Kay founded Kasia Kay Art Projects Gallery in the year 2006. After ten years of successful operation, including her participation in prestigious international art fairs such as Art Miami, Volta NY, Art Chicago, and Scope NY and Miami, she closed the gallery to focus mainly on her art practice and curation of exhibitions.
She has curated several international group exhibitions and site-specific projects exhibited in Athens (GR), Chicago (USA), Miami (USA), and New York (USA).
