Description:
The main subject of the “Modern Madonna” is a woman, whose face and part of the bust can be glimpsed: she looks at us in a firm and decisive but at the same time warm way, as if to create a connection to invite us into her world at first enigmatic impact. Her image is jagged as traces of color and light spots interrupt her figure and her clear perception that we can have of her. The result is a set of lines, shapes and colors, lights and shadows that interact with each other and that seem to belong to a distant world or to be part of an enchanted dream of which the woman is the protagonist, just like a Madonna: the final effect is not, however, of detachment, on the contrary, through this innovative technique the viewer feels involved as if he were the main interlocutor of the woman who, in her perfect imperfection, is able to question the common canons of beauty of which we are today bombarded by the mass media, exasperated more by the fact that Michaela identifies her as Madonna.
