Zhou Mo | China
Originally named Yaji Zhou, born in the winter of 1994 in a city in northern China, under the influence of her family, her has loved painting since childhood. From 2013 to 2018, Zhou Mo studied at Inner Mongolia University of Technology majoring in urban planning
and practiced a lot of hand-drawn design drawings. From 2018 to 2021, Zhou Mo studied for a master's degree in landscape architecture at Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology. In 2020, she came into contact with illustrations while paying a lot of atten-tion to social issues. The themes of her works during this period were mostly based on so-cial practice, and exposed social pain points with a satirical and critical attitude. The works were brightly colored and exaggerated visual effects. In 2021, Zhou Mo studied illustra-tion as a graduate student at the University of Edinburgh. The strange and lonely living environment makes Zhou Mo pay more attention to people's social relationship and
emotional connection. Her works discuss human emotional needs, emotional expression and childhood memories by capturing and recreating the psychological feelings of a cer-tain moment. The style of the works is softer, mostly presented in the form of graffiti.
