Bio

I am Kaylin Skye Mirel, from Los Angeles California, now living in New York where I am a Junior in college studying film and art history. My work is heavily based around emotion and feeling, not just my own feeling but the energies around me and how I absorb them. I have an innate desire for the observer to search inside themselves and create their own thoughts and feelings about what I create. I invite the individual to view themselves within the art, dissecting and asking questions it. The art I create is as much theirs to feel as it is mine to create. I take inspiration from artists like Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky, Claude Monet, William De Kooning and Dora Maar. I use all mediums and a vast array of color combinations to evoke emotion. While oil is what I most often gravitate towards, I love that a color can translate to feelings to mimic reactions while the piece itself can display undemanding involvement of life or a heavy absence of happiness.
