Bio

Eileen Reynolds Eileen Anastasia Reynolds earned her BFA in painting at the University of New Mexico and her MFA in Film, Video, and New Media at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. From 2005 to 2012 she served as an Assistant Professor of Digital Animation at the School of Art, Design and Media at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. From 2012-2013 she was a visiting artist/professor at California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts) in the Experimental Animation Department. In 2014, after 15 years teaching, creating, and traveling, Reynolds found her way back to New Mexico. She is a recipient of a variety of grants including two research grants from the Nanyang Technological University, the Paul Blankenship Memorial Grant for Emerging Artists, and an artist grant from the Embassy of the United States, Singapore. Exhibitions include the University of Malaysia Museum and Gallery, Post-Museum in Singapore, SITE: Santa Fe- Eighth International Biennale, “The Dissolve”, “One Night Stand”, Currents International New Media Festival, ISEA2012: Albuquerque: Machine Wilderness, Albuquerque Art Museum. Festivals include San Francisco Int’l Film Festival; Trick film International Film Festival, Stuttgart; Slamdance International Film Festival, Utah; Marfa International Film Festival, Marfa; Women in the Director’s Chair, Chicago; Lyon Asian Film Festival, France among others. Recently, Reynolds was the recipient of the International Award for the Mother Art Prize 2020. She has an upcoming residency with Procreate Project, where she will work on her short films and conduct workshops.
