Dominika Stanczak

Painter

Bio

Dominika Stanczak was born in Wrocław, Poland. She is a late 80-ties April child. Moreover – an indigo child, a spiritual nomad, and a free-spirited poetical soul. She is a multidisciplinary artist who experiments with visual forms in her acrylic paintings and literary forms of language in her writings. She intends to develop a holistic conceptual dialogue between both of them. As a child, she moved to Germany with her parents to return after some years. However, the urge to leave the Slavic cultural landscape has been powerful her whole life. At the age of twenty, she moved to Denmark to attend a Mixed Arts School. Five years later, different life circumstances brought her to Vienna, which has become her love and home since 2011. She graduated from a Danish Folk High School where she studied Abstract Painting, Theatre, and World Dance in theoretical and practical terms. Nevertheless, she has always regarded herself as a self-taught artist. She allows herself to step out of available frames; she does not constrict herself by the demands of any known schools. She likes practising flexibility, openness, free flow and creative expression in her art. She received her Bachelor’s in Spanish Culture and Language and her Master’s in Cultural Studies at the University of Wrocław. She also received her PhD in the Institute of Performative Studies. She passionately wrote a doctoral thesis on the performative identities of people in the XXI century. The intention to assist the collective feminine soul to rise and the search for one’s true identity and true self are strongly reflected in all her artistic work. She’s a multi-faceted artist who returned to painting and writing intensely in 2020. Since then, her artworks have already been published and exhibited in Venice, Madrid, Barcelona, Milano, Vienna, and Crete. She practices pole and aerial dance and is a meditation explorer in her free time.
