Cam Villar

Bio

Cam Villar is a contemporary artist who lives and works in Atlanta, GA.
Cam spent his early years perfecting realism in drawing until his love of sci-fi and graphic illus-tration introduced him to more stylized approaches. Upon entering the Fine Art program at Pensacola State College under the leadership of award-winning painter Carl Duke, and artist and poet Allan Peterson, he pivoted away from drawing and took up painting.
A trip to The National Gallery at the age of 21 where he saw the exhibition "Kandinsky: Improvi-sations" cemented his appreciation for modern art. Cam was particularly influenced by the dreamlike images of De Chirico and Magritte, the fierce abstract expressionist work of Kline and de Kooning and the fevered visions of Tanguy.
Today, he continues to explore and develop his own unique form of contemporary art.
