'Lutum', Latin for mud, clay and suchlike, was a substance used for sealing and fastening apparatus in chemistry and alchemy, for protecting components against heat damage caused by fire and for lining fur- naces as early as antiquity. Lutation was thus the act of "cementing vessels with clay." Sapientiae (genitive), from the Latin of 'sapientia', the wisdom, prudence, insight, prudence and/or knowledge. – An invitation to play with individual associations.
