Sasha Sutherland is a 24 year old artist and art teacher living in Ontario, Canada. Sasha has completed her BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) and BEd (Bachelor of Education) at York University and graduated in June 2022. In 2021, she received the Willowdale Award for the quality of her paintings. With the prize, she was also offered a solo exhibition at Gales Gallery located at York University during the year 2022. In 2022, she was part of the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (TOAF) and was awarded the “Best of Painting Award” for her body of work. Within Sasha’s Imagined Cities series, she chose to work with vibrant colours in order to lend a utopian dimension to the cities. Sasha has painted these imagined cities from various perspectives and they all consist of tubes as a means of transportation throughout the cities.
