Bio
My name is Michelle and I'm a digital artist from Mexico, I like to represent what lies within my soul and my journey in life in poetic strokes, in a sense of poetic artistry so to speak. My pieces dwell between renaissance, modernity, fantasy and the subconscious creating a stylish balance.
Since I was little I developed my craft from traditional art like pastels, acrylics and oil to illustrations in Adobe Photoshop and llustrator, moving forward to VR: like filters for Facebook and Instagram, implementing three-dimensional effects in my paintings using SparkVR by Meta.
As an artist I aspire to transfer the warm aesthetic of the past in the feeling of modern times, using symbology of human growth as well as reflecting messages about our environment to make my audience contemplate our surroundings, our home and what gives us sustainability. This is my passion since I have memory and my whole life has revolved around it, art is my home, a limp or the essence that gives me life and I constantly find myself mastering new ways to make it more bright, alive and profound.
I started in 2013 working in a small comic start-ups designing heroes and characters until I change doing portrait commissioned for personal use while working and discovering the videogame industry and jumping on designing clothing illustrations. My career as a freelancer motivated me to incorporate VR to bring my art alive for the public to fully immerse in the colors and the characters and what they represent. In 2021-2022 I was awarded 5th place in a contest hosted by the Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) themed “Traditional Cultured in Korean” where more than 3000 artist participated and I ended up in between the 15 semi finalist.
