Mixed Media Artist
Bio
I am a self-taught, mixed-media artist. My early memories involved going to art classes with my mother, also an artist. As I grew up, I did not get a formal art degree but continued to learn dif-ferent art forms from multiple teachers who shaped me into the artist I am today.
Though a full-time User Experience Researcher, I have been creating art daily since 2020. Paint-ing is a medium for me to process emotions and express my feelings about a moment on paper.
I would describe my art style as intuitive and experimental since it emerges based on the subject and takes form through mixed media. Though using watercolours is how I express myself the best.
My work is inspired by nature. Drawing forms of nature around me helps me capture the fragility and state of things at a point in time, especially with nature changing every year. I have a fasci-nation with shapes and marks in nature and I like to highlight them as I create my work. Most of my work is created through observational drawing at the location. But the translation of a place is never literal. I mix elements from multiple spots to give the piece a new yet familiar spirit.
The way I capture this spirit is indicative of how I see the world. On one end, you would find bold colours, big lines and abstraction while on the other, you would find mute tones, warmth, and tiny details.
