Annie Seif is a self-taught American artist located in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. She has ex-plored various mediums of art throughout the years such as: photography (landscape), charcoal, pastels, collages, and watercolor (paint and pencils). Recently, as early as the Global Pandemic lockdown, she has been focusing on acrylic paints. Annie uses creating art as a form of therapy. It’s a wonderful way to decompress and escape her reality for a bit while expressing her thoughts and feelings on her canvases. What she has been loving about her abstract paintings such as her pours, is the unpredictability and the uniqueness of them. No two are alike, and the motion of the paint can portray emotions and a story within each piece.
Annie didn’t choose a career in the arts but found a profession where she can still incor-porate it into her day-to-day job – as an elementary school teacher. She spent six years teaching before transitioning into her current career path in Medical Education.
Her work with acrylic painting took off during the Covid 19 lockdown. After teaching her students through Zoom, Annie would use the extra downtime to discover, learn and hone her skills. After a year of getting back into art on a regular basis, she took a leap and decided to share her artwork virtually. She first started out with sharing them on her personal social media accounts with her friends and family. Once she started getting some feedback, she felt comfort-able sharing them with the rest of the world. Annie created an Instagram account to share her work @annie.mak.art and has used Tik-Tok to have her art shared globally. She was blown away with the opportunity to submit a piece of her work into the MADS Gallery. Annie is also excited about her future in art as she develops her skills.
