There are many ways to represent chaos through watercolor artworks. One approach I used to depict the scene in “Whirlpool”, was to convey elements in disarray, using a swirl-ing effect. Another approach I used was bold, energetic brushstrokes to create a sense of movement and disorder. Experimenting with different brush sizes and pressures in my digital artwork to vary the intensity of the chaos. With these artworks I also chose a vibrant color palette that I feel evokes a sense of excitement or confusion. In “Polar Opposites” I used contrasting colors, and overlapping shapes and forms to create a sense of visual complexity and disarray to stimulate the composition. In “Flirtatious” I mixed colors directly on the paper to create interesting and chaotic color combinations. Introducing con-trolled splatters and drips of paint to add an element of spontaneity and unpredictability. This technique created a sense of chaos and movement within the artwork.
