STATEMENT:
“My creativity starts from negative emotions. I hate the human ego. We kill people, animals and nature to improve our lives. Including myself. Of course I love my family, my friends, but when I create, negativity overflows. My works are mainly made with concrete, scrap wood and plastic. Wood is a symbol of nature and concrete is a symbol of man-made objects. Wood is a symbol of nature and concrete is a symbol of man. Sometimes I reuse unsold and discarded bonsai tree roots and discarded wood from Manhattan sidewalks. The reason concrete is a symbol of man is that, according to one paper, concrete is the largest total amount of man-made material on the planet. In my work, concrete often represents architecture. I am mainly inspired by Russian avant-garde architecture, which incorporates artistic elements into architecture. By attempting to reimport from architecture to art, I express a kind of human rationalism. These materials are used to represent man's domination of nature. And there is a little space between wood and concrete. It is a message that says "there must be a certain distance between nature and man." It is a kind of social distance. Human beings should pay more attention to nature. I create my works with this in mind”
