TRACES OF DREAM
"MAKE YOUR DREAMS INTO ART"
20.02.2025
The collective exhibition ‘Traces of Dreams’ hosted by M.A.D.S. Art Gallery delves into the mysterious and fascinating territory of the unconscious, exploring how contemporary artists represent the dream worlds, psychological visions and mental landscapes that escape our consciousness. Dreams, often considered a secret language of the soul, are translated into works of art that, through shapes, colours and symbols, attempt to make tangible what is intangible.
The group exhibition not only reproduces the aesthetics of dreams, but also explores their deep structures, ambiguities and paradoxes. The works are presented as a kind of map of the subconscious, where reality and fantasy mingle, where time and space dilate or compress, and where every trace left in the work is a reflection of a hidden thought.
Between surrealism and abstraction, the exhibition offers a visual reflection on the power of images as vehicles for the expression of the collective and personal unconscious.
The artists selected for this exhibition come from different backgrounds and languages, but all share an interest in the inner world of the individual. The works range from painting to sculpture, photography to video art, and include interactive experiments that invite the audience to get in touch with their innermost fantasies and fears.
The intention of ‘Traces of Dreams’ is to bring out the link between dream and reality, demonstrating how art can act as a mirror for the unconscious. M.A.D.S. Art Gallery invites the public to reflect on the importance of dreams in our daily lives and how artistic images can become the medium through which we explore the most hidden recesses of our psyche. Dream traces' are not just fleeting impressions, but indelible memories that, once fixed on the work, offer a space for self-exploration and emotional catharsis.
