Nicole Dimt is a 22-year-old painter from Toronto, Canada. From a young age, Nicole has been interested in the arts, fascinated by colours, shapes, and small details. She is currently finishing her BFA with a specialization in acrylic painting at York University. Nicole focusses on themes of distortion, abstracted realism, and digital manipulation. Her work is highly influenced by the Psychedelic, and Futurist art periods. Nicole is known for using highly saturated, bright, and colourful palettes, which reflect an inner sense of childhood nostalgia, confusion, and getting lost within new, and wonky, realms and realities.
Her art is a way for her to communicate and connect with her inner child. Her art is a form of self-healing and helps her to get in touch with the emotions and thoughts that she so often supress. In her art, she aims to create fantasy-like, distorted, highly saturated, and psychedelic new realms and dimensions, which act as wonderlands that she use to escape within, avoiding the problems of everyday life.
