There are many ways to represent chaos through watercolor artworks. One approach I used to depict the scene in “Whirlpool”, was to convey elements in disarray, using a swirling effect. Another approach I used was bold, energetic brushstrokes to create a sense of movement and disorder. Experimenting with different brush sizes and pressures in my digital artwork to vary the intensity of the chaos. With these artworks I also chose a vibrant color palette that I feel evokes a sense of excitement or confusion. In “Polar Opposites” I used contrasting colors, and overlapping shapes and forms to create a sense of visual complexity and disarray to stimulate the composition. In “Flirtatious” I mixed colors directly on the paper to create interesting and chaotic color combinations. Introducing controlled splatters and drips of paint to add an element of spontaneity and unpredictability. This technique created a sense of chaos and movement within the artwork.
