Jóhannes K. Kristjánsson is from Iceland, born 1965. He has been painting on and off for over 20 years. He is a self-taught painter but has taken courses in painting. Jóhannes paints in oil and each painting takes a long time to make, as his work is delicate. Sometimes up to a month. He uses every spare time to paint but his main job is as a sound engineer on a television and radio station in Iceland.

Artist Statement:
My influences and inspirations come from the nature. Whether it's fine grass in nature or rocks, it can just as well be an abstract painting. All these shapes and forms and that what the sunlight can do magic. I just want to capture the mood and put it on canvas.
